On Slow Furniture
Why we would rather wait sixteen weeks for one sofa than fill a room in a day.
There is furniture that fills a room, and furniture that holds it. The difference is usually time — time in the workshop, time in the selection, time spent saying no.
We ask clients to live with fewer, better pieces: a sofa whose down cushions are sewn by hand in Meda, a dining table cut from a single slab chosen at the quarry. These pieces do not date because they were never 'in date' — they were simply made properly.
The reward arrives years later, when the room still feels inevitable.
